I4MS offers €35 million in funding for SMEs, DIH’s and mid-caps in four Open Calls until 30th September
The ICT for Manufacturing SMEs (I4MS), the EU initiative to digitalise the manufacturing industry has entered past June in its fourth phase which focuses on helping service suppliers (IAs, DIHs and CCs) to provide a business-oriented description of the technological services they offer, complemented with Best Practices identification with a total funding of €35 million. Four Innovation actions have process of Open call on-going until the 30th of September for the latest one.
Better Factory, redesign your current product portfolio together with Business and Arts mentors and Technology expert.
Better Factory provides methodology for manufacturing SMEs to collaborate with artists and technology providers to develop new and personalized products. The project is selecting 16 Knowledge Transfer Experiments (KTEs) in a large range of sector to lead a diversification of the SMEs’ product portfolio enabling the enhancement of their business models. The 2 open calls will take place the 15/1/2021 and the 15/06/2022.
The first one will be open until the 15th of July 2021.

DIH-World, boosting the interaction and cross border cooperation among DIHs and SMEs, and also among DIHs from the European Network.
DIH-World is looking for innovative experiments across Europe that integrates digital technologies in the processes, products or services of manufacturing SMEs. The selected Innovative experiments will receive up to EUR 95.000,00 to support the integration of digital technologies in the processes, products or services of an SME.

Change2Twin, Digital Twin for every manufacturing SME!
Change2Twin will select up to 11 SMEs and mid-caps interested in developing and implementing technology and systems applicable to digital twins. Each Deployment Voucher is worth up to 90 000 Euro (lump sum), to cover the costs to deploy and implement technology and systems applicable to digital twins for manufacturing. Winners will be supported by 11-months technical mentoring programme throughout the implementation of the digital twin.
Change2Twin offers European manufacturing SMEs funding to get a digital twin. Two rounds of open calls will be organized in 2021 that will last until the 29th of October and 2022:
– Assessment voucher (€ 10.000 / project) via Assessment Open Call
– Deployment voucher (€ 90.000 / project) via Deployment Open Call

AI Regio, building a one-stop-shop platform that enables access to resources for AI-based solutions in efficient and sustainable manufacturing
The objective for the first open call of AI REGIO project is to select up to 8 SME-driven experiments to complement AI REGIO in the extension of the current portfolio of “AI for Manufacturing” solutions; extending the domains of the AI REGIO Champions1; and benefiting directly SMEs in underrepresented regions, with the perspective to join VANGUARD Initiative.
Experiments are expected to cover two technological topics: Industry 5.0 and Collaborative Intelligence AI-driven solutions and Manufacturing Data Spaces and Data4AI pipelines. The open call will close on the 30th of September 2021.

I4MS Brokerage system
The Brokering system for digital transformation is a tool that invites manufacturing SMEs to submit project proposals to the Open Calls organized by the Innovation Actions. The challenges are to help Manufacturing SMEs to find: Financial resources to test new technologies, training to upskill their workers, grow their network.
