Initiative Description

This training consists of an overview of the essential concepts in order to be able to program an autonomous robot. An important part of the training will be based on practical exercises on a Turtlebot robot. These robots are simple yet complete platforms suitable for learning robotics. Most of illustration examples will be provided by our Robocup team .

Training Objectives

Use ROS (Robot Operating System), use a simulator (Gazebo), implement an autonomous navigation algorithm, make a semantic cartography, implement computer vision and more.

Training Contents

Presentation and use of ROS, Installation and use of a robot simulator like Gazebo, Implementation of a slam algorithm with a TurtleBot robot, Introduction and use of OpenCV library, Creating semantic cartography with a TurtleBot robot.
