Customized digital kits for bringing AI into production at SME scale

KITT4SME delivers a modularly customisable digital platform that can seamlessly introduce artificial intelligence in their production systems. The project will ensure that the kits are widely distributed to a wide audience of SMEs and midcaps in Europe. What is more, the seamless adoption of the kits will be facilitated with the use of factory systems like ERP, as well as IoT sensors and wearable devices, robots, and other factory data sources.

  SMEs and mid-caps are the key part of the European economy, so project KITT4SME aims to provide them with scope-tailored and industry-ready hardware, software and organisational kits delivered as a modularly customisable digital platform that seamlessly introduce artificial intelligence in their production systems. The platform is based on “Powered by FIWARE” infrastructure that flawlessly combine factory systems (such as MES and ERP), IoT sensors and wearable devices, robots, collaborative robots and other factory data sources with functional modules capable to trigger data-driven value creation. Uptake of the resulting kits and provided services is strongly supported by market readiness of the individual components and the platform grounding on the already established RAMP marketplace. Leverage on the network of DIHs (3 DIHs are consortium partners) ensures that KITT4SME results are distributed to a wide audience of companies in Europe. Two rounds of open calls are foreseen during the KITT4SME project: the first one addresses technology providers to enrich the platform offer; the second one will set up experiments combining technological providers and SMEs AI adopters.
