Pathfinder: a draft vision is born! Third Project Meeting
Hosted by the coordinating organisation Technology Transfer Systems (TTS), the 7 beneficiaries of the PATHFINDER CSA project met for the third time to further elaborate on its mission: To increase knowledge & awareness, and pointing out the future on the use and impact of simulation and forecasting technologies.
A two day meeting was organized to jointly work on the further definition of the vision on the future on simulation and forecasting technologies but also to address the current state of the art in these technologies and to be informed about the dissemination activities.
Based upon earlier discussions a graphical representation of the Pathfinders vision was discussed as the fundament of the roadmap. Once the vision is clear and the state of the art known, the roadmap can be defined!
The vision on PATHFINDER is multi-dimensional: The future setting, how simulation and forecasting technologies are impacting factory and the neighbourhood, the value chain, nature and humans and what challenges these technologies are facing are being addressed while considering effective access and usage of information, seeing the factory as part of a smart networked world and looking at the Factory of the Future. From these dimensions and its sub dimensions relevant focal points will be defined leading to a more detailed description of the vision.
Pathfinder understands the need for informing their stakeholders like the European Manufacturing Industry, relevant services of the European Commission etc. For this dissemination activities are being executed via several channels. A wide reaching channel is the I4MS-Gate which links to over 1000 registered followers via their Linked-In platform. This is also the aim of I4MS; multiplying the outcomes of projects like PATHFINDER.
In addition the social media channels of the European Commission are supporting the dissemination of the PATHFINDER outcomes via Digital Agenda Europe.
