MIDIH will begin its journey with the release of its first call for proposalsadmin
The ManufacturingIndustry Digital Innovation Hub (MIDIH) is expected to launch in the short-term its open call for data driven applications and experiments, undertaken by IT or manufacturing SMEs respectively, in cyber-physicalsystems (CPS) or internet of things (IOT).
The pan-European network held its kick-off meeting in Brussels on 3rd and 4th October of 2017. Funded by H2020 within the Factories of Future cPPP and I4MS programs, MIDIH aims to support and link up national and local initiatives for the digitisation of manufacturing industry, to boost investment and collaborations through strategic partnership and network. This initiative will bring innovation partnership between solution providers and industries and bring Europe to the forefront of Industry 4.0 market by 2023.
MIDIH will create a Network of Manufacturing Digital Innovation Hubs in the area of IoT/CPS. The current network consists of 3 Pan European Digital Innovation Hubs, 2 Regional Digital Innovation Hubs, 9 Competence Centre and 2 Teaching Factories to provide European manufacturing companies with easier access to the technological facilities and advanced skills of the multiple manufacturing innovation hubs now in place across the region.
MIDIH brings together 21 research, government, academic, industry, and technology provider hubs across the continent — stretching from Finland in the North, to Italy in the South — into a more coordinated network. Industry partner hubs involved in the network include Fiat’s Research Centre near Turin, IT consultancy Atos, technical researchers VTT in Finland, and Spanish metal products manufacturer Nueva Herramienta de Corte.
