I4MS Talk: Applications of Augmented Reality in service operations
According to Aberdeen, 63% of leading manufacturers have already implemented AR solutions. An AR-enabled workforce can perform complex operations with small initial knowledge. Paperless shop floors, optimized process definitions, and intelligent work instructions can propel organizations forward in their digital transformation journeys, boosting them ahead of the competition and into a new era of manufacturing.
AR offers a number of benefits and potential to improve work: it offers contextualized step-by-step guidance for activities, ensures compliance and safety for workers, enables interaction with the system in context, and facilitates the visualization of critical information. The use cases concern all aspects of the company, from remote collaboration and assistance to acquisition of information and documentation of procedures, 3D instructions for training and work, as well as demos and product views.
