I4MS Community: The central information point where SMEs can engage with the digitalization ecosystem

The I4MS Community is a central information point where people can meet, interact and share knowledge through articles, announcements, open questions or private chat to create synergies and build partnerships. The aim is to serve as a meeting point that facilitates the exchange of information on the latest trends, news, events, technologies and funding opportunities related to the manufacturing industry.

Until the end of September 2022, the I4MS Community has gathered almost 2200 manufacturing enthusiasts, SMEs, experts in the field, DIH & EDIHs, European projects supporting manufacturing SMEs and technology providers. With members coming from all corners of Europe, the I4MS Community is an agora to exchange ideas, keep each other informed and network.

The community is structured to share information in the following manner:

  • Trends and Opinions on Industry 4.0 in form of articles shared by the experts.
  • Funding Opportunities and other Opportunities within the manufacturing industry offered  by the EU-funded projects.
  • News about the I4MS Initiative and its milestones.
  • Events within the manufacturing community and about emerging technologies applied to manufacturing.
  • Networking Lounge with I4MS Contact Points information and details.
  • Support to apply to the different open calls and opportunities and access to frequently asked questions.

The information in the I4MS Community is organised in four content categories: Digital Transformation for Manufacturing Industry, I4MS ecosystem, Funding Opportunities and Events. Furthermore, the I4MS Community also has seven categories for affiliated manufacturing projects such as Change2Twin, PULSATE, Better Factory, KITT4SME, 5G for Manufacturing or ReStartSMEs.

Lastly, I4MS is also a home for EU4Digital Smart Industry community space where experts for digitalisation of SMEs in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine contribute to the ecosystem for digitalisation of SMEs in the Easter partner countries. This community was possible thanks to our collaboration with EU4Digital Facility that aims to extend the benefits of the European Union’s Digital Single Market.

We trust that the community and the role of different Ukrainian organisations in the network of I4MS Contact Points will contribute to support manufacturing SMEs in Ukraine as the country rebuilds its economy.

Adding value by curating European largest online manufacturing community

The I4MS Community has been a go-to place for SMEs, mid-caps and other supporters of manufacturing’s digitalisation thanks to its valuable content and direct messages with other members. Therefore, even though I4MS CSA in a form it is now, ceeses away in December 2022, the consortia members have agreed to continue community management activities while turning the I4MS Community into a Digital Manufacturing Community in the long run. After the initial period of revamping, the community will thrive with updates from I4MS Innovation Actions as well as new manufacturing projects populating the community with its expertise, updates and ample opportunities for manufacturing SMEs.
