Great success of I4MS at ICT 2013

I4MS initiative was presented at ICT 2013, held in Vilnius (Lithuania), from 6th to 8th November. More than 4000 researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, young people and politicians attended this event, which has been focused on Horizon 2020 – the EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for 2014-2020.

The Agenda for Friday 8th November consisted of 4 sessions; the last of them included the presentation of I4MS initiative – promoting ICT innovation in manufacturing, and also expanded on the support of ICT within the Factories of the Future public-private partnership, as well as its Factories of the Future 2020 strategic research roadmap priorities.

The new European initiative I4MS “ICT Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs”, launched by DG Connect, and whose initial budget is 77 million Euros, is a pioneer in helping small and medium-sized European enterprises to exploit the potential of information technology and communication (ICT) to improve their products and manufacturing processes.
