I4MS Initiative will take part in a session on the “Role ofregions promoting digital transformation of SMEs: the case of I4MS & SAE” that will take place on Tuesday, 8th of October 2019 from 11:30 to 13:00 hrs. in Brussels in the frame of the European Week of Regions andCities 2019.

During the session,  regions, DIHs and projects will showcase best practices on how regional grants (ESIF, ERDF) or voucher schemes can be leveraged to support the access to the tools (marketplaces) and services  created in the frame of these initiatives to expand the digital innovation of manufacturing SMEs in Europe.

The session will include very relevant speakers: Mr. Francisco Conde, Minister of Galicia Region (Spain); Dr. Max Lemke, Head of Unit for “Technologies and Systems for Digitising Industry” at DG CONNECT; Ms. Mayte Carracedo, I4MS Coordinator; Ms. Marianne Koch, projects coordinator at FraunhoferInstitute for Computer Graphics Research IGD; Wei Jan Wang, Innovation Advisor at Chalmers University of Technology and Mr. Andres Gomez Tato,  projects coordinator at CESGA.

The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.

Over the years, the event has grown into the key event on EU Regional Policy. It welcomes some 6.000 participants in October each year (local, regional, national and European decision-makers and experts) for more than 100 workshops and debates, exhibitions and networking opportunities.
