EU Countries perspective over role Simulation and Forecasting Technologies, Overview of innovation and road mapping programmes across Europe on S&FT
With the Pathfinder mission in mind being:”To increase knowledge and awareness of, and determine the future use and impact of simulation and forecasting technologies in manufacturing” the partners in the Pathfinder consortium are working towards meeting three objectives:
1. To deliver a roadmap pointing out research priorities leading to the next generation simulation and forecasting technologies.
2. To inform the manufacturing industry on state of the art simulation and forecasting technologies.
3. To favour the creation of a network of experts.
As part of meeting the first objective, a thorough investigation and analyses has been performed on innovation and road-mapping programs across Europe at regional level highlighting the role envisioned for Simulation and Forecasting Technologies within national initiatives. This analyses will empower an effective harmonization of the Pathfinder road mapping activity with these activities running at national level. The result of this investigation is available on the Pathfinder website in the Results section. Beside an extensive overview on the different regional innovation and road-mapping programs across Europe, the document also identifies associations and centres of excellence specifically working in the field of S&FT.
