ReconCell presenting digital platform to enable open innovation for agile businesses

Blue Ocean Robotics in collaboration with ReconCell has recently presented product development work on a digital platform at the 3rd Annual World Open Innovation Conference (“The Integration of R&D and marketing for Successful Innovative Automation Solutions: An open innovation approach”, Parizi & Saremi). The digital platform will facilitate information gathering and data flow between a network of stakeholders in which ideas come through different actors and sectors. Based on an inductive case study, Blue Ocean Robotics examined a typical product development and solution selling process in an automation provider company. The results showed that this process is very time-consuming and costly. In order to evaluate potential use cases and future customers for ReconCell, a digital platform called Business Assessment Tool is developed as the main integration enabler between automation solution customers, automation solution providers such as ReconCell, and sales partners. The first version of the Business Assessment Tool will be released in spring 2017, a prototype version can be tested by selected partners.
