Discover the Baden-Württemberg Digital Innovation Hub
The Baden-Württemberg Digital Innovation Hub will be located in Stuttgart/Mannheim (Germany) which has an excellent prospect as it includes excellent know-how for manufacturing and software.
The forerunner for research and development in Baden-Württemberg BEinCPPS DIH is Fraunhofer IPA, a research institute that stands for sustainable projects with high industry participation in the area of Manufacturing Engineering and Automation. In the BEinCPPS Project in which John Deere (a large provider of agriculture and forestry technologies) is the Champion of the Baden Wurttemberg ecosystem, the Innovation Hub wants to go one step further to a digitized manufacturing and by doing so facing the challenges of mass customization.
Baden Wuerttemberg is one of the most innovative regions in Europe for industrial high-tech domains thanks to the variety of companies aside with long grown infrastructure of universities and research centers. With this basis, Baden Wuerttemberg’s enterprises and research facilities try to exploit the capabilities of digitalization and transfer it to industry in order to raise productivity as well as efficiency of production. Those efforts were started with a national work group called “Industrie 4.0” which is not only a group but also a collective term containing automation, data exchange and manufacturing technologies.
