LASHARE - Preparation of the OpenCall

At the beginning of 2015, LASHARE will publish an open call for new Laser-based Equipment Assessments (LEAs). The call will employ the same approach as used for the current assessments that is guiding a technology development from being demonstrated at laboratory level to a prototype solution that is being validated in a production like environment. It will address an industrial user and a SME supplier that have jointly aim at developing the equipment. Read more

The first Open Call of CloudFlow is rated a real success

36 proposals have been submitted during the Open Call. From January on up to 7 new experiments will join the project. Out of the 88 different entities, 50 of them report prior experience within EC projects – conversely this means that 38 entities (more than 43%) are new to EC projects. The 36 proposals comprise 88 potentially new partners that are not yet part of CloudFlow (for a more detailed analysis see below). Those 88 potentially new partners are coming from 17 different European countries. Read more.

PATHFINDER: Two examples of using Simulation and Forecasting Technologies in the Product Design Process

With the Pathfinder mission in mind being: ''To increase knowledge and awareness of, and determine the future use and impact of simulation and forecasting technologies in manufacturing'' the partners in the Pathfinder consortium are working towards meeting three objectives:
1. To deliver a roadmap pointing out research priorities leading to the next generation simulation and forecasting technologies.
2. To inform the manufacturing industry on state of the art simulation and forecasting technologies.
3. To favour the creation of a network of experts.

HPC Impact Workshop

The ICT Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs (I4MS) Simulation Impact Workshop was held on 24th September in Edinburg, as part of the combined review of the current Factories of the Future (FoF) projects in this domain in order to stimulate discussion between all project partners on the value of the activities, their strengths and weaknesses, and how they could be improved.
